The Department of Parks and Recreation offers many opportunities to learn and play the game of baseball. Introduce your child to the game through one of our many high school coach-led clinics, play the game in one of our recreational leagues or our RBI summer league.

Baseball: Fundamentals of the Game (Children)
Do you want to play America's national sport? Join us for the exciting game of baseball. Kids will learn basic baseball skills including throwing, catching, fielding, and hitting. If you are new to the sport or want to sharpen your talent, don't miss this class. Make new friendships on the field.

Baseball: Fundamentals of Pitching
Perfect your pitch! Join your friends and make new ones in this active class focused on developing your pitching techniques. Learn the pitching motion and how to have the mental focus needed for any good pitcher. Reserve your spot and practice winning every day.

Leagues
Spring and Fall leagues are offered for participants aged 6-14 in cooperation with the Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club.
Spring League: Games are played between May 1 and June 30. Leagues are set up for the following levels of play: T-Ball (ages 4-5), Machine Pitch (ages 5-7), Modified Kid Pitch (ages 5-7), Kid Pitch-Minors (ages 8-10), and Kid Pitch-Majors (ages 10-12). League age is based on your child’s age as of January 1st of the current year. Prices vary from team to team. For league details or find a team near you, go to www.pgcbgc.com. Fall League: Games are played between Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Leagues are set up for even number age groups (i.e. 6u, 8u, 10u, 12u & 14u). League age is based on your child’s age as of September 1st of the current year. The cost is $60 per player.
Spring Champions League: Games are played from April through June. The league will feature a higher level of competition mainly tournament and travel level teams. Age groups will be based on demand. League age will be based on age as of January 1 of the current year.

RBI Baseball League
For the older ages, The Department of Parks and Recreation is an official MLB/RBI League. MLB/RBI is an initiative developed to “Revive Baseball in Inner Cities”. There are two age divisions for play; Junior (13-15) and Senior (16-18). League play begins in May and registration starts in April. All-Stars from these divisions will be selected to represent Prince George’s County in the MLB/RBI Mid-Atlantic Regional in Late July. Prince George’s County RBI has a rich history of participation and hopes to continue to grow the program.
